Rare furniture up for grabs

FURNITURE from the Highland home of the family behind one London’s first department stores will go on sale in the Capital next month.
Items including a late Victorian writing table and two washstands with a sink from the Shoolbred hunting lodge in the Highlands will be up for sale in Bonhams, George Street, on June 14.


James Shoolbred started a linen drapery store in the 1820s.
