Triangle Furniture down Rocky's
MOULTRIE — Teams in the Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Department’s girls softball leagues began their final round of play on Monday at the Jim Buck Goff Recreation Complex.
In Mite League action, Triangle Furniture polished off Rocky’s 15-5.
Hanna Friedlander, Alex Gibbs, Jessie Burgess, Meaghan Coats, Lindsey Oxley and Kerri Owens scored two runs each to lead Triangle Furniture. Kara Menix went 2-for-2 and hit a home run for Rocky’s.
In the Mite League nightcap, Bull Durham Insurance painted over McAlpin Signs 20-0.
Carly Horne, Bailey Brewer, Ainsley Davis and Taylor Owens scored three runs each. Ashlyn Hamilton, Lora Alford and Diana Durham scored two runs each for Bull Durham Insurance.
In a Mite League game last Thursday, Triangle Furniture, down by three, scored four runs in the bottom of the last inning to defeat McAlpin Signs 22-21.
Hanna Friedlander and Christy Crosby each scored four runs, Alex Gibbs and Hanna Kirk scored three and Jessie Burgess and Savannah McMillan each scored two for Triangle Furniture.
Madison Robinson went 5-for-5 and scored five runs for McAlpin Signs. Lexi Price and Katelin Johnson scored four and Abby Mincey score three for McAlpin Signs.
In Midget League action on Monday, Freakz scored five runs in the final inning to come from behind and burn Pizza Inn 9-6.
Cheyenne Sumner went 2-for-2 an scored two runs to lead Freakz.
Cheyenne Reynolds went 2-for-2 and scored once for Pizza Inn.
In Major girls play on Monday, Troubleshooters had no trouble, shooting down Morris Orthodontics 12-0.
Christy Harper, Ashley Chafin and Jessie Bell each scored three runs. Bell hit a home run.
