Bush to divest Color Works subsidiary

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Ready-to-assemble furniture major Bush Inds. has told workers at

its Color Works subsidiary here that it plans to divest itself of the company.
Bush CEO James Sherbert said Color Works, which produces sophisticated designs and decorations for an array of Fortune 500 companies and other clients, is not part of the manufacturer’s core business model, which revolves around furniture.
“In our continuing effort to improve our focus on our core competencies, we will eventually divest of Color Works,” Sherbert said.
A timetable for the divestiture wasn’t disclosed.
A report in The Business Journal, a local weekly business newspaper, said Bush is negotiating with a prospective buyer, but Sherbert didn’t confirm that.
