HIGH POINTÂ — TV personality Katie Brown is working with Drexel Heritage to design her new home in New York.
The manufacturer believes Brown is a rising star in decorating and entertaining. She hosts the Lifetime TV show “Next Door with Katie Brown” and has teamed up with American Public TV to create a weekly program on cooking, gardening and decorating, “The Katie Brown Workshop.”
She also has authored books on decorating and entertaining, writes a column for the New York Times Syndicate and contributes to shelter magazines.
Brown took part in Drexel’s Idea House, in which a designer shows how a room or home can be put together from pieces from the company’s Drexel, Heritage and DH Furniture divisions.
“It illustrates how eclectic our line is,” said Gina Wold, Drexel manager of marketing services.
During market, Brown spoke at a press breakfast and gave tours of Idea House to the media and retailers.
“She brings a fresh approach to decorating that we feel our clients will enthusiastically embrace,” said Lenwood Rich, Drexel president and CEO.
