A Paved Backyard Is Just As Important As Decorating A Living Room

California’s climate allows more outdoor entertainment than many other less fortunate states and as a direct result, one’s backyard becomes an extension of the house and another entertainment “room”.
It is therefore strange that many people seem to think that a patch of tired grass, a boom box or an extension speaker and a mobile barbeque are all that is needed to cater for friends and family.

We spend so much time and money on decorating our sitting room with nice furniture, unusual color schemes, knick0knacks and sometimes very expensive entertainment centers and yet, comes the weekend, and everyone is outside around the barbeque. This is the place that should draw attention with a paving stone or patio deck and to complete the picture, an unobtrusively placed water feature to subliminally soothe our guests and make them feel relaxed and pampered.
There is the misconception that because it is outside, less attention need be focused on it but in warm climates where outside entertainment is possible for most of the year, the backyard is as important as the living room in colder climates. Cost is very reasonable if one were to compare it to remodeling a kitchen or bathroom. The ideal answer to the many questions about paving stones and water features that most homeowners ask reminds one of Henry Ford’s remark when he said “I don’t know the answers to a lot of stuff that my company does, I hire people that do know.” Using a reputable experienced and knowledgeable company is vital and trying to do it on the cheap brings to mind the phrase “cheap is expensive”.
“Many years of experience and our Mission Statement that we always give more than is expected has been the secret of our success” said Terry Morrill, CEO and founder of Pacific Pavingstone (now known as Pacific Outdoor Living) a Californian company rated as the fastest growing pavingstone company in America by Inc 500 magazine. “Our expansion into every aspect of outdoor living, both on a wholesale and retail level, has been very gratifying and word of mouth by our loyal happy customers has boosted that expansion at an exponential rate” he added.
Here in Southern California it would be more appropriate to say, “I love what you’ve done in your backyard,” rather than “I love what you have done in your sitting room,” because that is where we spend more leisure time and a paving stone patio deck, and a water feature are the ingredients that would make that happen.
