Children’s furniture specialist Moriegeau-Lepine adds e-commerce

Brian Carroll — Furniture Today,
SAINT-HUBERT, Quebec — The Morigeau-Lépine Co., a manufacturer of upper-end children’s furnishings, has

added the ability to shop and buy its line on its Web site, www.morigeau.com.
Ian Sacks, U.S. sales manager, said the company is responding to demand by consumers for access to information about its offerings.
Morigeau-Lépine distributes through upscale boutiques in Canada and the United States. The e-commerce feature will extend availability and reach to consumers, especially in cities where the company doesn’t have a retail presence.
Consumers won’t be able to make purchases via the Web site if a retailer that carries the line is within 60 miles of that consumer’s home address. However, if no retailer is within 60 miles, the site allows consumer to buy from the manufacturer.
“This is an important move for Morigeau-Lépine,” Sacks said. “We’ve developed such a devoted following. We’re hoping to increase that with this option.
Family-owned and operated since 1945, Morigeau-Lépine is based in Quebec. It only sells furniture made from North American woods.
