Judge issues injunction for furniture distributor in Triad

HIGH POINT — A High Point furniture distributor must stop collecting money from consumers upfront and then failing to

deliver furniture as promised, according to the N.C. Attorney General’s Office.
A judge in Wake Superior Court issued a preliminary injunction order on Feb. 16 that prevents National Furniture and its owner, Myron Savage, from deceiving consumers, according to the attorney general’s office.
Under the order, the company is barred from taking upfront payments for furniture orders unless it places the money in an escrow account, places the order within five days and gives a realistic delivery time. The company must either stick to that time or allow customers to get a refund.
