Aaron Rents converting Texas stores

ATLANTA — Aaron Rents said it has agreed with Briley Investments, operator of 15 Rent
City stores in central and west Texas, to convert eight of the stores to franchised Aaron Sales & Lease Ownership units.
In addition, as part of the transaction, Briley will acquire two of Aaron’s current company-operated stores and convert them into franchised Aaron’s Sales & Lease Ownership units. At the same time, Aaron’s will acquire four Briley stores and convert them into company-owned Sales & Lease Ownership stores.
Once all parts of the transaction are completed by the end of November, Aaron’s Sales & Lease Ownership will have 10 more franchised stores operated by Briley and two more company-owned stores.
It is anticipated that the remaining three Rent City stores eventually will join the Aaron’s franchise system, Aaron’s said.
Briley Investments also has entered into a development agreement to open five more franchised Aaron’s stores in Texas in the next several years.
