HIGH POINT – The High Point Market Authority said 84,976 badges were issued for last
month’s market, the first fall market to use a centralized registration system.
Market Authority President Brian Casey said the new number will give the group “an accurate benchmark†to use for future fall shows.
A centralized registration system was used for the first time at the spring market, but since then, the Market Authority has spent more than $100,000 to upgrade the system, Casey said. Improvements include the installation of fiber optic cables and a new database server, he said.
“We made these changes to ensure the system that we had in place for this market was far more robust and reliable, and the result is that we now have better metrics to measure against as we move forward,†said Casey.
The Market Authority has contracted with New Horizons, a Greensboro, N.C.-based software development firm, as part of the upgrade.
