P/Kaufmann gets Waverly decorative fabrics license

NEW YORK — Waverly’s parent company, F. Schumacher & Co., is licensing the Waverly brand of decorative fabrics to P/Kaufmann.

Ron Kaufmann, CEO of fabrics converter P/Kaufmann, said the Waverly brand will be operated separately from the other Kaufmann divisions.
“We want to preserve the image of Waverly and its uniqueness and identity,” said Kaufmann. He said the division will have its own executives, designers and sales staff. He called Waverly “the only true brand in the decorative fabrics industry that has any consumer recognition.”
“The people at Schumacher will provide input about design,” but Kaufmann will create and direct the design, he said.
In furniture, Waverly has had a license with Lexington Home Brands since the late 1990s, but that relationship is ending. Dan Bonini, president and general manager of Waverly, said the company is “seeking another partner” in furniture beginning in January.
